a trivial personal observation about indirect effects:
from this morning planes have been flying directly over our apartment in south london, rather than taking their conventional flight paths over central london. as you can imagine I was a bit freaked when i woke up this morning to what sounded like planes flying far lower than usual over the apartment towards central london, plus more emergency vehicles than usual.

Tony - Me too, I'm finding it really hard to digest tv images like these as reality.
Andi - Apparently the nostradamus quote is bogus, someone made it up a few years ago as an example of the kind of broadly interpretable statements prophecies like nostradum's contain. More info here.
Also hoping everyone's everyone is okay.

true roger - all we can do is carry on with life and hope that the implications are not worst case. still pointless coffee shop conversation is all part of assimilating what's happened.
love to you all, sean

tony - no worries, glad you're enjoying it. the blog webpage looks very smooth... i like.
projects idea is good - i'd participate, and we can host it on my server. if you find some suitable software (probably PHP/MySQL based, or possibly Java servlet based) we'll put it up there.

would you believe i appear to be developing an allergy to marijuana - even the smallest toke on a joint appears to send my eyes into a swollen puffy spasm... i think my body may be starting to make life decisions for me!
